About the Job

As the Manager High Power Testing, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our renowned High Power Laboratory at KEMA Labs in Arnhem. You will lead a team of highly educated and experienced Test Engineers and Test Operators, ensuring smooth lab operations, technical excellence, and compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) standards. In this dynamic and challenging role, you will report to the Operations Director.

You will be the central point of contact for technical feasibility, customer inquiries, and internal planning and coordination. By developing lab strategies and promoting its capabilities, you will contribute to the lab's visibility and future readiness in the evolving landscape of transmission and distribution networks.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and coaching a team of Test Engineers, a Work Preparator, and a Team Lead for Operators, fostering a supportive and high-performing team culture.

• Ensuring lab resources and planning are aligned with customer demands by working closely with Pool Managers, Sales, Contract Management, and Planning.

• Implementing strategies to improve turnaround time, technical performance, and customer satisfaction.

• Promoting lab services to existing and potential customers and representing KEMA Labs at industry events and conferences.

• Maintaining compliance with QHSE policies, conducting audits, and promoting a safe working environment.

• Monitoring delivery times, approving reports and certificates, and ensuring alignment with IEC and IEEE standards.

• Preparing and managing the lab’s budget and identifying opportunities for financial and operational improvement.

• Supporting Sales by assessing technical feasibility of customer requests and providing accurate, timely input during the sales process.

About you

As a people-oriented and technically proficient leader, you bring a strategic mindset combined with hands-on leadership and strong communication skills. You thrive in complex technical environments and enjoy developing your team while driving operational excellence.

To succeed in this role, you bring:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Science, or a related technical field. Proven experience in a managerial role, preferably in a high-voltage or lab-based environment.

• A successful track record in change management and continuous improvement.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to align teams and engage customers.

• Knowledge of QHSE standards and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

• Financial acumen and experience in budgeting and reporting.

• Fluent in Dutch and English both spoken and written.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in promoting lab services and representing technical organizations externally.

• Familiarity with high-power testing environments, equipment, and standards.

• A problem-solving mindset and sensitivity to organizational dynamics.
